The UNH Observing Station at Mt. Washington is located in the Mount Washington Observatory, the highest peak (44.27N, 71.30W, elevation 6,288ft) in Northeastern United States. The Mount Washington Observatory plays a unique and key role in AIRMAP since it is ideally located to study regional New England pollution issues in the warmer months and address unique questions on long-range transport at the other times of the year.
